Main Performers: Ustad Surjeet Singh on Sarangi and Shri Debu Nayak on Tabla!
Ustad Surjeet Singh was initiated into Indian Classical Music via learning to play the Dilruba from Ustad Gurdev Singh and Ustad Harbhajan Singh and later received vocal training but his love for the Sarangi led him to the doors of Pt. Ram Narayan in 1977, where he was to spend the next 15 years of his life training under the great master. In recent years he also received guidance from Pt. Hanuman Prasad Mishra.
Shri Devapriya (Debu) Nayak, is a very accomplished Tabla player and also the director of the Washington DC Chapter of Chhandayan, a tabla school dedicated to the promotion of Indian Classical Music in the Washington DC metro area. By profession, he is a computer engineer employed by the US Department of Education.
